Recently I had business in Huntsville and was disturbed by the number of unnecessary billboards that clutter the side of the highway, simple visual pollution.

But what is most disturbing is to see fairly large 4ft X 8 ft jumbotron type signs being erected by retail merchants. These signs are illuminated as a television screen would be and scroll through a number of displays. These signs are distracting and when added to the number of sanctioned billboards, they present an almost carnival like atmosphere to what should be a scenic wonderland.

These electronic signs are only 4 X 8 today - in ten years they will be IMAX size and no regulations are in place to keep them away from our highways. Please add the appearance of these jumbotron type signs to the list of concerns
