Bike lanes and pedestrian infrastructure make cities more livable and safer for pedestrians and bikers. It has been shown in numerous economic studies that slow human traffic stimulates businesses along its path. I think it will make cities less liveable and less enjoyable places to spend time, if car traffic is prioritized over slow human traffic.
