Removing bike lanes will not reduce traffic congestion. Having bike lanes allows people a safe alternative to driving that removes cars from the roads. Removing bike lanes will only result in cycling deaths that are 100% preventable.
I am a mother of two young kids and I cycle with them in a cargo bike everyday. I should live in a city where I feel safe to cycle with them. I should not have to live in a city that prioritizes misinformed traffic concerns over their right to safety.
