The removal of an environmental assessment will be catastrophic to the proposed landfill in Dresden Ontario. The citizens of Dresden fought so hard to get an environmental assessment and for good reasons. The environmental assessment wasn’t granted based on nothing there is no doubt that this proposed landfill would be a huge risk to our community. Not only is it within a kilometre of our town, schools and homes, but it is also a risk to the wildlife and endangered species in the area. Removing this environmental assessment would mean that the risks of this landfill are not being properly assessed, and therefore putting our health at risk. With all the space that Ontario has the government needs to find another spot for this landfill. There is no reason that it needs to be built within a kilometre of a small community with severe environmental risks.
