An environmental assessment is absolutely necessary. The decision to waive it would be a terrible wrongdoing for the animals, industry and people directly in Dresden, and surrounding communities. With endangered species living in the Sydenham and sharing the Sydenham with the Walpole island First Nations we can’t risk polluting it. It is unimaginable how the authorities who are meant to serve and protect our land and ensure that no harm is to be done are even considering the possibility of waiving an environmental assessment.
