On behalf of our Grade 10 Science class at Ursuline College Chatham, we are writing to oppose this proposal. Environmental assessments are the law and are required to ensure projects do not harm the environment. If this project is requesting that they do not need to complete these assessments, this must mean that they would not pass it. We do not believe that it is fair for York1 Waste Management ltd. to dump garbage from a municipality 3 hours away - they should have to dump their garbage in their own backyard. A landfill in Dresden will be aesthetically displeasing and we do not want it!
