I am writing in opposition to this Bill which would allow the proposed landfill to be established in Dresden. Dresden is currently a charming small town with a close knit community feel. The pace and quality of life in Dresden would be significantly impacted if this landfill were allowed to be established. The volume of truck traffic alone would forever alter the feel of the town. Not to mention the noise, smells and obvious potential for significant environmental impacts. The proximity of this landfill location to natural waterways is highly concerning. Please reconsider removing the requirement for a full EA for this proposed landfill. At a minimum there should be studies done to fully determine the impacts on the community and environment before this is allowed to proceed.
