This decision has sparked outrage among local citizens and officials, who argue that it threatens public health and the environment, especially given the proximity to a school which puts the students and people at risk.Why does Doug Ford insist on placing the landfill in Dresden? He could choose any other location, preferably a wide, unpopulated field far away from people and schools. Instead, he is putting it close to a public high school, which raises serious concerns for the community. The grass pickerel, spotted sucker, and other native fish species are increasingly at risk due to pollution caused by people dumping and throwing trash into the river. And the turtles to are at serious risk of leaving like the soft shell turtle is so rare to see the only spot you can see this reptile is right behind LKCS
