The Ontario Greenbelt is a critical ecosystem that not only provides refuge for native fauna and floral, but plays a critical role in the quality and quantity control of ground and surface water in Ontario. If the Bill gets passed, permanent damage to our province will be done and the Greenbelt will never be able to recover. The Greenbelt is one of the last places without development and the environmental concerns are legitimate. Opening up this land for development will NOT provide affordable housing. All it will do in line the pockets of developers and destroy precious greenspace for generations to come.
