The proposed changes to the Ontario Heritage Act are significant and very concerning to Ginoogaming First Nation. These changes could be detrimental to our history as First People in land that is now commonly known as Ontario. Of specific concern is a sacred area for out community known as Wiisinin Zaagigin and its surrounding area and watershed. The area has been used by our people since time immemorial and the potential removal of mechanisms that ensure necessary archaeological work is done when required is alarming. Ginoogaming First Nation opposes these proposed changes and welcomes the opportunity to discuss further,,,
