The “red tape” that so distresses the framers of this bill exists for a reason. The environmental protections exist for a reason. Businesses will not respect the environment or the people who live in it unless they are forced to. This has been proven time and time again. Doug Ford has also proven time and time again that he cannot be trusted to look out for the interests of anyone except his big-business donors. Ontario does not belong to them. They should not be allowed to perpetrate long-term harms in order to line their pockets, to the detriment of EVERYONE else. We are already facing catastrophic consequences of our past disregard of the environment. Passing a bill to accelerate this damage is beyond irresponsible.
