At first I was completely shocked when I heard about Bill 5. I then realized that governments around the world are tilting towards authoritarian rule. Premier Ford is sadly no exception to this trend. Ford has decided that repealing regulations and protections is a necessary to fast track the economy with no consideration of the negative impact to the environment. Environmental degradation is directly linked to lack of governmental regulations/protections. If we allow Bill 5 to pass the harms to our communities will be irreversible. We only have to look at the Alberta Oil Sands to understand that the costs to the environment greatly outweigh the benefits. Ontarians need democratic leadership and sustainable solutions that protect our land and water resources. Together we can STOP BILL 5! 🌎
