I do not support the repeal of the Endangered Species Act. Repealing the Endangered Species Act and replacing it with a registration scheme is akin to legislating out of the Ontario government's duty to consult obligations by removing the government decision that would require consultation. This is blatantly unconstitutional.
Moreover, we are currently in a climate crisis where protecting wilderness that is the habitat for Endangered Species is more important than ever for the survival of humankind. It would be a huge step backwards in Ontario's climate goals to repeal this legislation.
