I just want to understand how this could ever even be considered a good idea. I mean, first we have Bill 5, and now this?
Green infrastructure may require more investment up front, but in the long run it will greatly benefit everyone who has to live in cities. Yea, it might inconvenience the builders a touch, and cut into some profit, but honestly fuck the profit motive.
The thing is, we built for so long the other way - not considering the environment, and it got us basically where we are with congested cities with sparse green spaces, and disconnected ecosystems that have been taken over by invasive species.
I understand we need to continue developing - to a point. Why then do we not better ourselves collectively and work on the hard problem of building sustainably, considering the environment and how to incorporate ecosystem corridors and green spaces more then ever?
Let's not take a giant step backwards here...
Thanks
My internet connection is too shitty to put on supporting links.
