I am an Ontario resident who finds the proposed changes to blue box regulations regressive. Ontario as the largest province should be setting the standard for more recycling and waste diversion overall. EPR makes sense: why are municipalities (and in the end our overflowing waste facilities) getting saddled with the cost? I am astounded by the amount of plastic produced and sold daily and how little standardization there is. From what I understand, incineration would be counted towards a portion of “recycling”. This is a serious misrepresentation. (I am using a polite term for what I really consider it to be.) We can do better as Ontario!
