This legislation should not be passed. One of the key features of Wasaga Beach is the 14 Km of uninterrupted access along the entire beachfront. Passing this legislation could allow Wasaga Beach council to bulldoze prime park space and beachfront for private developers. This will create private beaches and fences throughout the beachfront, taking away from the beauty that is Wasaga Beach. The current council has proven that it is irresponsible with public money as it has wasted funds, unnecessarily raised taxes to an excessive amount, and their own council wages compared to other municipalities in the county. Current council does not have residents best interests in mind. It praises transparency yet hides cheque registers as it cannot take criticism from those that see the wasteful spending. Council actively blocks residents from it's social media pages cause we dare to speak up against them. Many activities happen behind closed doors or over Zoom cause they can't bear to face us in person. Reject this legislation.
