Water taking is one of the most serious issues facing Canada and our globe today. NAFTA under Brian Mulroney sold this most precious non-renewable resource down the river in its commodification of water for profit. So many of us concerned Canadians have protested both internationally and US based private water taking firms for two decades. This new proposal to allow the direct transfer of water taking rights between private companies is inexcusable in the face of growing water shortages in Canada, along with the now daily threat of domination of Canada's resources by the US under Donald Trump and his government.

We will continue to stand firmly against the Ford government and this proposal until it is stopped.
