I have some very serious concerns with the removal of groundwater for commercial purposes. Climate changes are affecting rainfall and groundwater resources are going to become harder to manage in an area where the population is growing quickly and demand for this limited resource is going to continue to increase.
For-profit companies being able to essentially remove huge quantities of groundwater endangers a safe water supply for millions and the environmental impacts could affect all fresh water supplies in a large part of Ontario.
