I fully support the addition of rock climbing as a supported recreation activity in DG.

In my 15 years experience as a climber, I have witnessed firsthand how the vast majority of my peers care deeply for the environment in which we are lucky enough to recreate in Ontario. Most climbers are keen to preserve nature and promote responsible recreation opportunities for climbers and non-climbers alike while doing their best to minimize impact. For example, avoiding certain climbing routes during nesting season of threatened birds or bats is very common in other climbing areas.

Climbing is a wonderful way to experience our parks in Ontario, and I think officially sanctioning the activity & opening up opportunities for climbers and land managers to work together for the betterment of our parks & nature areas is a good path forward.
