I have visited Wasaga Beach…

I have visited Wasaga Beach for the last 44 years, and have lived here for the last 17.

Nancy island I have visited several times and understand its historical importance - I can understand the Town of Wasaga Beach wishes to take possession and administer the future of Nancy Island - I can support that on the basis that it is "elevated"in terms of visitor attendance etc but I would not want Nancy Island to become a "tourism " only site. Historically it is is too significant to become a "source of income" only. It can be "advertised" more and have improved facilities but it's history has to remain its priority.
Wasaga Beach ....I can fully support improving Beach area 1 as a tourism centre....it does need to be upgraded and turned into a tourism centre where people can stay, eat, shop and centre their visit.
I was under the knowledge that Beach Areas 1 and 2 , Allenwood would remain part of Ontario Provincial Parks , be managed, maintained and be part of historically Beach Areas 1 to 6 . My fear is that if that changes then the historical and current significance of that area becomes less natural and more commercial..people come to the Beach to enjoy the beauty of the sand, the water, sunsets and family fun.They may only be able to pay for parking.....Please do not change that...Wasaga Beach worldwide is special and beautiful....thank you...
