Why don't you want names? Why annonymous responses? I don't get this privacy thing- people around here want to be heard and have a name on this.

I live downriver on the Goulais River. My property value is at stake here and so with many others. The environment is at stake here, and our drinking water is at stake here.
I do not want the chemicals that go into the effluent in my drinking water. I - like may others- have a sand point well along the river. That means I drink water that is only a few feet under the ground. I don't want any waste going into the river what so ever. I don't want to be affected by a problem that may occur.

For one company to put an entire community's drinking water at stake is ridiculous. For one company to put the environment of the Goulais River and plants, fish and wildlife in a situation where this can go bad is not worth it.

I say the Searchmont Resort can add another holding tank- I cannot believe in this day and age something with their old system cannot be worked out. This is a resort in a wilderness area, we live here for that reason. We want to be able to have our own well/drinking water and not city water. We don't wish to be the guineau pigs of your proposed system. ---Exposure to bacteria and viruses that may not be completely removed during the wastewater treatment process, chemicals used in the treatment. The only thing it poses is problems down the line for us--- no benefit.
The Resort certainly is not an economic benefit around here or in Searchmont for that matter. They are the ones who benefit with their own shops, their own restaurant, their own accomodations etc. They are an isolated business.

If this goes through then Searchmont Resort better realize they are responsible for the entire Goulais River and Searchmont Communities and every household here in this area.

And again- And to actually state that you will not post my comment if my name is on it is wrong.

The Goulais River Community does not want effluent being discharged into the Goulais River. I would rather the Searchmont Ski Resort just shut down if they feel they cannot deal with their septic situation. All in all the only reason they are proposing this is that they are looking to make more money- trying to get greater numbers of people coming to their resort at the cost of everyone else. We want CLEAN WATER not water that includes effluents from one company
