This proposal concerns me because the Strada site is only about 2 miles from our home, and the use excess of water will potentially affect our well, through contamination or disruption of our drinking water supply.
There are filtration systems the Strada could use to filter their wash water on site, thereby creating a closed loop for on site reuse of wash water.
Just because Strada does want to invest in technology that will protect our drinking water is no excuse. Strada is a multi million dollar corporation and must be a responsible company whether it be by force or by good citizenry, I am asking that you ensure our water is protected.
I urge you to deny this permit to take even more of our precious drinking water and in denying their request to further mandate them to adopt filtering of their wash water in lieu of taking more water.
And further regulate their waste disposal of the silt, sand , clay and whatever else waste materials their wash water creates during their washing and filtering operations to ensure that it properly disposed of without any adverse environmental impacts.
Further that an independent 3 rd party continually monitors and verifies that these regulations are followed, all of which shall be paid for by Strada.
It is much safer to follow the precautionary principle, “to do no harm”especially when it comes to protecting our only source of safe water.
Thank you for your diligent consideration of this important matter.
