The County of Dufferin appreciates the opportunity to provide comments on Strada Aggregates Inc. application for an amendment to a permit to take water. In the comments package provided, the County highlights the following concerns with the application submitted by Strada Aggregates Inc.:

1. Water system impacts as a result of the significant amount of water being proposed for usage on a per day basis.

2. Implications on Dufferin County's agricultural sector that rely on high quality and large amounts of water for the production of crops and maintenance of livestock.

3. Potential impacts to residential drinking water for nearby communities that rely on groundwater sources for their drinking water. Most notable of those impacts is the repercussions from the emergence of a potential contaminant in the water system.

Dufferin County strongly urges the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks to consider the concerns brought forth in our letter and briefly outlined above.
