Commentaire
The County of Dufferin is pleased to submit comments on the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing ('MMAH') proposed changes to the Planning Act under Schedule 10 of the Fighting Delays, Building Faster Act, 2025 ('Bill 60'). The comments provided by Dufferin County in the letter attached to this comment centre around the following:
1. Dufferin County is supportive of the proposed changes to the Community Improvement Plan (CIP) section of the Planning Act. It is our belief that this will allow for a more holistic approach to growth and improvement in the County.
2. The County has concerns with the proposed addition of subsection 3 (5.1), which removes the decision of the Minister to be in conformity with policy statements. It is our belief that this brings into question the integrity of planning decisions.
Dufferin County appreciates the opportunity to comment on the proposed changes to the Planning Act and hopes that MMAH incorporates our suggestions.
