I think dumping sewage, even if treated, into a river where so many people live, fish, and swim should not be acceptable. Whatever Searchmont's previous methods of dealing with the sewage water were, they should be improved and developed to accommodate needs without dumping in the Goulais River. Whatever the new proposed treatment method is, if there is a malfunction in that tomorrow, then all these people's lives living around the river will be ruined. There has to be proper consultation with the community members, and they need to be shown all the evidence. These people have a say in this, whether they want to allow the sewage treatment water in their river or not.
