As a resident of Goulais…

As a resident of Goulais River , and many of my ancestors who have lived here , I do not consent to waste water being deferred down the Goulais River .
For generations my family has fished and hunted these lands and I wish for my future family members to not have to consume fish or any other source of food that has been altered by human waste.
I do not want my child to consume waste water as we swim in our river . The many streams that run off the Goulais river will be affected with one running through my property .
In recent year I have avoided Searchmount ski hill due to their greed , lack of accountability and lack of respect for their customers. I full support economic growth but as someone who has skied for my entire life , I just can’t support this business or their interests in investing in environmentally negative impacts to my community and home. Also , I am a social worker who works with the 7 First Nations and see daily the effects of the water treatment facility on reserve in Goulais River to where residents still require bottled water . I can’t imagine an already broken system at that facility have to intake waste water in the Goulais Bay . I would also like to see an estimated number of residents who will actually support this business after the reports . No one will be going as from what I have heard within the community. So we’re going to destroy our home for out of town profits ? For hotels to go up that will be empty for 9 months of the year ? The city closest is plagued with unemployment , addiction and with the rise of new Canadians who do not use the ski hill , I do not approve of this wate water management facility.
