Contrary to the tag line we received, the proposed amalgamation would remove decision-making power from local experts, creating a disconnect between decision-makers and the communities they serve. Each of the municipalities has unique local needs, and a one-size-fits-all approach should not be taken. I worry these would become sprawling regional conservation authorities for dozens of municipalities and watersheds. Ever more, we need more conservation authority protection.
