Our family is a regular visitor to Hamilton Conservation Authority (HCA) properties. We hike and ride our bicycles as well as swim and canoe the waterways of these areas. Because of this, we are very concerned with anything that happens to and with these priceless places.
In our experience "bigger" does not usually result in ":better" outcomes. Watering down conservation laws and oversight is ill advised, especially at a time when climate change is wreaking havoc all over the world and our beautiful country.
We agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. We are concerned about losing local decision-making and we support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community.
