As an Ontario resident and taxpayer I am vehemently opposed to this proposal. Conservation Authorities must remain well funded and local-focused. Their current catchment areas are already massive. Further amalgamation is not only a foolhardy attempt at finding so-called 'efficiencies', it further erodes local democracy. A resounding NO to this attempt by the provincial gov't to centralize control over our local natural lands and green spaces.
