I am a private citizen in southwestern Ontario. It is essential to maintain local offices for the new Conservation Authorities. The proposed Lake Erie CA would be a 3 hour or more drive time from the southern boundary to the northern boundary. Staffing must be maintained at the local level to monitor flood events, support local residents with environmental initiatives, and provide a human face to customer service. These staff must be familiar with the local communities.

Additionally, First Nations communities, local municipalities, and existing Conservation Authorities must have more opportunity to review and consult on the proposed CA boundaries. Insufficient time has been provided for meaningful review and consultation.
