I agree that certain parts of conservation areas can be amalgamated, but other parts, in my opinion, cannot.
I grew up in a small village in Ontario. Through out my primary schooling we went to conservation areas on field trips and having them locally available, well maintained, and manned by local personnel was a very important part of that. To explain the local biodiversity at a site, to keep sites safe after storms etc, you need local people who care about the area. If everything is amalgamated , all the local small conservation areas will suffer. It takes a lot of people to keep these areas safe for everyone to use. I live in an area that has a lot of smaller areas, that are all very important, that will be neglected, if everything is centralized.
Keep the people where they are, they do an amazing job of maintaining these areas for all to enjoy.
