I strongly disagree with the re-distribution of the conservation authorities. The local experience and knowledge is essential and needs to be administered regionally, not on a provincial scale. The funding is local, with a very small provincial contribution. If provincial guidelines are needed, they can be sent to all the current authorities. This does not save any of my tax dollars. How can Thunder Bay and Goderich and Barrie share in any common actions? The current connections between municipalities and the conservation authorities are established. This bill breaks up these links. I suspect it will cause more cost to the municipalities which the province will not help with. Please halt the re-organization and start discussions with AMO to make choices that the municipalities have an input to. This is from a resident of Owen Sound.
