An expensive merger that takes away local decision making under a government that has already shown disregard for protecting vulnerable areas and species is a terrible plan. Why is this being suggested? What is the rationale or incentive? Who benefits? It won’t be the local folks who enjoy the conservation areas. It won’t be the employees. And it certainly won’t benefit the natural spaces and the wildlife living there.
