Combining so much down into one system does not improve efficiency. It only makes it hard on the current employees as you now put the tasks of 36 onto 7. That is the equivalency of firing 5 people with full workloads and giving those tasks to 1 person to complete in the same amount of time. You will be increase wait times and problems to be solved as there will not be enough staff to properly handle the situations.
It does not "better align conservation authorities’ services with provincial priorities" it merely cuts conservation authorities' power in order for the "priorities" to push in with mess resistance.
A Frontline staff is not able to work efficiently without a supporting team, and "drawing on decades of local knowledge and partnerships" is not possible when you increase the definition and area of 'local'.
This change is not for efficiency. It to get rid of perceived resistance against development at the cost of our environment. I disagree with this consolidation.
