Each year, the Goulais River floods (at least once - usually in spring - sometimes in fall, too). The floodwaters cover many of the yards of homes and camps - and sometimes the waters breach the actual property dwellings. My question is two-fold:
1. Would the increase in water (treated wastewater) affect these levels?
2. Would property owners face contaminated floodwaters?
I would also like to know how Ontario will ensure due diligence for this and other controversial projects at a time when development laws and regs are becoming looser, trending towards self-regulation? I ask as Searchmont is owned by an American company and they have made it clear they put profit before the feedback and interests of the local Ontarians who live here. This issue has been escalating locally.
