I lived alongside the Goulais River for 36 years. What a joy to enjoy the natural beauty and cleanliness of the river. A river vital to our native wildlife and important walleye habitat - so important that it can’t be fished for six weeks after the walleye fishery is open everywhere else in our fishing zone.

So how can discharging effluent benefit anyone or anything that lives along the river or its watershed? The only one who benefits will be the owners of Searchmont ski resort.

The damage to the river/watershed and all who live around it that will be caused by the proposed sewage treatment plant will be massive. And that’s the point! Everyone/everything else will suffer for the unconscionable actions of the few.
