I am writing to formally express my strong opposition to the proposed establishment of a wastewater treatment discharge into the Goulais River.

This issue is deeply personal to me and cannot go unaddressed. The Goulais River and the surrounding lands of Goulais River and Searchmont are my home. I spent much of my childhood on this river and on this land—hunting, fishing, swimming, and learning from the environment around me. These lands and waters are sacred and hold profound cultural, spiritual, and personal significance.

I am deeply connected to these waterways, and the idea of introducing waste into them is distressing. Waste has no place in our natural waterways. The Goulais River is not only an ecological resource, but a living part of our community and a responsibility we hold for future generations.

I urge decision-makers to reconsider this proposal and to protect the integrity of the Goulais River. The destruction of our waterways is irreversible, and once harmed, they cannot truly be restored.
