I used this documentary to teach college students years ago. I never thought this could happen in Ontario. ‘The 2003 documentary The Corporation highlights the Bolivian water crisis of 2000, illustrating how privatization, driven by corporations like Bechtel and the World Bank, rendered it illegal for citizens to collect rainwater, sparking intense, successful popular uprisings in Cochabamba. It serves as a primary example of corporate profit pursuit over human rights.” The Bolivian people had to collect water from rivers, lakes, and rainwater, and were fined if they tried to collect water to stay alive. In the end, the people violently got rid of the politicians.
I am a senior citizen who can ill afford to pay higher taxes for infrastructure and pay higher water bills. I highly protest the way Ford’s government is rushing this through. I just read about this in The Conversation this morning.
