The City supports the regulatory changes under ERO Posting 026-0305 that would facilitate the electronic submission of information and materials and allow required notices to be provided electronically to the Ministry and Municipal Affairs and Housing. The City also supports the removal of the requirement for information and material to include an original or certified copy. These changes align with the objectives of streamlining planning processes, improving efficiency, and advancing a more digital and modern planning system.
Beyond the streamlining items outlined above, the City also recommends the following additional measures to further enhance efficiency and simplify processes:
1) Amend the various Regulations to remove the requirement to post public notices in print newspapers.
2) Ensure the wording and requirements under each O.Reg for notices of public meetings and decisions have the same terminology and wording for accuracy and consistency.
