I am a student currently attending Secondary school in Brampton Ontario and I have some concerns with how The Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe is being executed.
Upon learning about the GreenBelt, I was glad that we could depend on the farms and forests for many things such as food and oxygen. I really hope people living far into the future can also live a healthy and eco- friendly life. I believe it is important to have strict rules and regulations to ensure the conservation of valuable land.

The Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe is a great plan for equality, liveability and sustainability in Ontario. I believe majority of the plan is well thought out and fits with the urbanization of Ontario, although there is one amendment which concerned me as I read it.
Amendment 1.1 came as quite a shock as the Greenbelt is such a prized land by the people of Ontario. Deleting low density urban sprawl and implementing unmanaged growth is contradicting all that the Greenbelt stands for. With unmanaged growth of suburban and urban cities and towns, the lines will become blurry and soon people will not only use up a large portion of the land, they will also pollute.
Even though The Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe will give farmers more freedom on what goes on in their farm, it might jeopardize the amount of goods produced in the farms, which ultimately means a loss in money for Canada . Also, there is a chance that the quality of goods produced in the farms may not be as good as they would be without the plan. Strict regulations have made it possible for the farms to produce large amounts of high quality goods.

To conclude, without the strict rules and regulations taking place in The Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe, the profit made will be compromised and so will the quality, as well as the cleanliness of the forests.
