Hello,
I agree with the proposal to remove size restrictions on Brook trout in 'Put, Grow and Take' lakes. This new proposal with divert pressure to 'Put, Grow and Take' lakes and protect naturally occurring populations of brook trout.
Previous size restrictions did not make any sense and it is positive to see that rule(size restriction) is being lifted/.
I disagree with with the proposal to reduce the lake trout season in 'Put, Grow and Take' lakes. As these fish usually do not reproduce the proposal doesn't make sense. Anglers should be encouraged to fish 'Put, Grow and Take' lakes year round as this reduces angling pressure on naturally occurring populations. As well, it would provide more opportunities throughout the year for local and out of area fisherman and would benefit the region economically by having more year round fishing opportunities.
Other Zones that have 'Put, Grow and Take' lakes open all year round have been quite successful in achieving the previously mentioned benefits.
