It is very negligent and irresponsible for the Ontario Government not to have in place a workable and effective emergency plan in the event of an accident at one or more of Ontario's nuclear reactors. This state of affairs, in regard to public safety and the mandate of the Government of Ontario to uphold as a primary responsibility the health and safety of all people living and working in Ontario, is not acceptable. Either legislate a comprehensive and realistic emergency plan for the possible, but not inevitable, event of a major or minor nuclear disaster, or declare publicly why this is not possible. Do not pretend that because no nuclear accident has yet happened in Ontario, that such an event never could happen.
