I expected and accepted there would be growth in my immediate new neighbourhood when I bought into this building from plans in 2005. But so much and so fast! What I Never expected and don't really accept is the demolition of the numerous low-rise rental buildings in the area. Aside from providing housing to people of diverse economic and personal needs they add a human scale to the street scape. I'm not talking about the corner of Yonge-Eglinton or along Eglinton or Yonge. These are buildings on streets a 5 to 10 minute walk to the Y/E intersection. Change we all must accept. I think we do accept change. Including the new Crosstown which will be great for the entire city. As I think the Sheppard subway is. But the changes brought on by that line are not remotely as dramatic. I don't think I'm being NIMBY. Please think of us
