This proposed plan has some merits, but it does not reflect the feelings of the community at large. The proposal has been made by a Councillor who has a self-centered vision of how the downtown core should be developed. This Councillor and a relatively small group when compared to the population as a whole, would develop a "silo" which would not be invitational to the GTA as a whole. Mobility of people should not be limited to walking, cycling and transit. The automobile is a vital part of moving people around and roads for cars needs to be incorporated into any dynamic downtown plan.
