I am deeply concerned about the proposed changes in Bill 108. I have lived in the Yonge and Eglinton area since 1974 and have seen firsthand the results of having the OMB override municipal planning. Please do not take this province backwards by giving the LPAT the kind of rules and procedures that were in place for the OMB. In addition, shortening the timelines for approvals puts our communities at risk for development where the necessary infrastructure is not in place. Finally, putting a cap on development charges means that citizens lose out on potential improvements in parks and recreation, daycare centres, and subsidized housing.
