Hello, I'd like to comment to highlight a couple key features regarding the positive nature of this proposed change .
First and fore most is hunter safety, the majority of bear hunting is done up North where terrain, where it allows, is rugged and dangerous. Having to carry all of that gear into the woods over 200 meters is difficult, dangerous, and drastically I creases the chance of personal injury.
There are many locations that do not even allow 200 meters as most road way are skirting lakes, rivers and or impassible objects.
Lastly, baiting in an active bear location 200M from the road does nothing to keep Bears off the road. They are already in the area and travel consistently. If their path of travel takes them across a roadway, it will continue to do so regardless of the distance of a bait stand.
Thank you,
C.J.
