On behalf of the City of Waterloo Engineering Services Division I am writing to express our overall support for the proposed changes to modernize and improve the Environmental Assessment Act. Any changes that will enable faster EA approvals will benifit municipal projects and save considerable time and expense to municipalities, citizens and the private sector. Low risk and routine construction projects should definitely be exempted. We thank the MECP for its efforts in this area.
