I am disappointed and discouraged that our Provincial Government has proposed changes to the. Ontario Heritage Act, in Schedule 11 of Bill 108.
The current regulations 9/06 and 10/06 work. They provide criteria that help ensure local communities are objective and consistent. The specialist Conservation Review Board has dealt with appeals quite satisfactorily.
The Provincial Policy Statement 2.6.1 states “ Significant built heritage resources and significant landscapes SHALL be conserved.”
Please reconsider.
Please remove Schedule 11, Ontario Heritage Act, from Bill 108.
