Good call on shortening the distance from 200m down to 30m. It becomes very difficult in working with a bear outfitter in finding locations for, and then setting up bear bait sites at 200m. At 30m, from a safety standpoint achieves the same results, yet affords the outfitter many more options for sites as well as travel time to and from baiting. This is a huge deal when baiting upwards of 30 or 40 sites in the fall that have to be maintained every other day, specifically in time, energy and fuel.
From a hunter standpoint, having to drag a harvested 400+ lb bear through the bush is incredibly difficult at even 10 yards, let alone 200m. Some would find it impossible without having to waste meat or sacrifice the precious hide. At 30m this becomes a reasonable ask of a hunter.
Well done...
