My comment pertains to ERO 019-0022.
The recommendation to reduce the setback of black bear hunting bait piles from 200 metres for roadways or established and maintained recreational trails to only 30 metres sounds to me like something pretty reckless. You would be increasing the likelihood of collisions between vehicles and bears (a hazard both for people and bears - and cruel to bears, too) as well as of encounters between bears or other wildlife and recreational trail users. There are way more recreational trail users than hunters, and I would have thought you would want more and more people to get out and enjoy Ontario's great outdoors. Why are you wanting to increase the chances of them encountering bears? We do not want people to be afraid of nature.
I believe you want to make things easier for hunters (or hunters want you to make things easier for them). Why don't you do something more reasonable, like change the distance to 150 metres, or even 100 metres.
